Job Description

The Board of Directors of PCSAS invites applications for the next Executive Director (ED) of the organization.

 PCSAS was formed in 2007 and is an independent, non-profit organization that provides rigorous, objective, and empirically based accreditation of Ph.D. programs. PCSAS programs adhere to a clinical science training model — one that supports and expands the scientific foundation for mental and behavioral health care and increases the quality and quantity of clinical scientists contributing to all aspects of public health for all people.

 PCSAS leadership consists of the Board of Directors and Board President, the Review Committee and its Chair, and the ED. There are currently 48 clinical science programs in the US and Canada that are accredited by PCSAS. PCSAS’ parent organization is the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science and it is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) .

 

The ED serves as the primary contact and spokesperson for PCSAS. Along with the Board President, the ED is the “face” of the organization. Job responsibilities include:

·       General oversight and development of the organization

·       Oversight of the finances of the organization

·       Oversight of the accreditation process

·       Oversight of the public-facing activities of the organization

·       Oversight of PCSAS’ existing recognitions/affiliations and developing new recognitions/affiliations by various organizations including federal and state agencies

·       Development and engagement in fundraising activities

·       Working closely with the Board, Review Committee, and other PCSAS committees; and providing timely reports of activities and finances to the PCSAS President and Board.

 We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience/interest in one or more of the following domains: (1) clinical science training; (2) accreditation processes; (3) fundraising; (4) engaging in advocacy.

 The ED position is a half-time, funded position. We welcome applications from all interested persons.
