Faculty Position in Forensic Psychology

Job Description

The Department of Clinical and School Psychology invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, open-rank faculty position in forensic psychology. Candidates will be evaluated for rank based on their experience and scholarly accomplishments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and student mentoring. They should be actively engaged in scholarship, with expectations for an ongoing research program, peer-reviewed publications, and supervision of student research. Preference will be given to candidates with active external funding. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as psychologists in the state of Florida.

The faculty member will be expected to teach core clinical courses in forensic psychology. Additional responsibilities may include clinical supervision. The teaching load will be contingent upon research productivity.

Required Qualifications

·       Doctoral degree in clinical psychology

·       Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Florida

·       Clinical/scholarly expertise in forensic psychology

·       College and/or university level teaching experience

·       A strong record of scholarly publications

Desired Qualifications

·       Potential to secure external funding to support a research program

·       Current grant funding in support of an ongoing research program

Nova Southeastern University is a not-for-profit institution classified as an R1 institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and has also received Carnegie’s “Community Engagement” classification, highlighting its collaboration with the broader community. The Department of Clinical and School Psychology offers APA-accredited Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs in clinical psychology, an APA-accredited Psy.D. program in school psychology, and a specialist program in school psychology. The Department also houses two APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship programs and a postdoctoral residency. Students receive training at the Psychology Services Center, which provides services to children, adolescents, and adults through its general and faculty-directed specialty clinical training programs.
